Friday Favorites: NeilMed Sinus Rinse
Well I don’t know how it happened, but it is Friday again. YAY for the weekend, but where the heck did this week GOOOO!?!?! Since it is Friday, that means another Friday Favoritethough…whoop whoop!! Last week I shared my favorite way to order eyeglasses on the cheap, and today I want to tell you ALL about my VERY favorite NeilMed Sinus Rinse.
As a SERIOUS sinus sufferer, I can honestly say that Neilmed has SAVED my life…or at least made it more livable. I have suffered from HORRIBLE allergies, been plagued by chronic sinus infections, and undergone multiple sinus surgeries…so when I say I am sinus sufferer…I am NOT kidding. By using sinus rinse, I am able to get through the changes in seasons with fewer sinus infections and MUCH less congestion.
The magic is THE BOTTLE. It shoots the water up your nose and STRAIGHT into your sinuses like a flipping missile. If you DO have a sinus infection, it cleans that gunk out of your sinuses and gives INSTANT relief!! I am not gonna lie though…it is DISGUSTING and the first few times it MIGHT make you barf. To feel the contents of your sinuses exit STRAIGHT outta your nostril takes some getting used to for sure. BUT trust me, once you get used to it, it is LIFE CHANGING!! When I have a sinus infection, I rinse my sinuses instead of blowing my nose. Sometimes I rinse every hour. It just feels so great and relieves all of the pressure. AND the best part, it helps get over the infection without antibiotics or a trip to the urgent care. And also, for me, I get over the infections MUST quicker. When I DON’T have a sinus infection, I use my rinse daily to help keep my sinuses healthy. Every night I rinse out the dirt and germs of the day…it is a great way to keep sickness away!!
Another of my favorites…a drying stand for my rinse bottle. It is SUPER important to keep the bottle clean and GERM free, so allowing the bottle to dry out is key. The last thing you want to do is rinse the germs from your nose using a bottle FULL of germs…yucko.
As if sinus infections are not enough, another problem that comes up during this time of year (the season change) for many people is dry nasal passages and bloody noses. I have suffered all of my life with HORRIBLE bloody noses and one time in high school I had to go to urgent care for a nose bleed that WOULD NOT stop. EVERY TIME they tell me the same thing…dry nasal passages. So now I use gel spray for dry noses and it is AMAZING!!! And my kids will use it WITHOUT toooooo much complaining because they know it will help them too. I got SUPER sick of ruined pillowcases from middle of the night nosebleeds!!
I know it is not very glamorous, but one of my FAVORITE things happens to rinse snot from my nose…what can I say??? I honestly don’t know if I could survive the Winter/Cold season without it. Next week I will try to share something a little sexier…haha. Happy Friday!! Let’s chat soon. Jess
