Best Buttercream Frosting Recipe for Sugar Cookies
Totally versatile frosting that can be used for frosting, piping, or literally just eating off a spoon.

- 4.5 cups powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup butter
- 3-6 TBS milk
- 1.5 tsp vanilla If you are not using almond extract, use 1 tsp vanilla.
- 1.5 tsp almond extract THIS IS WHAT MAKES IT THE BEST!! You could also use 1/3 tsp each of vanilla, almond, and coconut extract.
soften butter to room temperature
mix butter, powdered sugar, and 3 TBSP of milk with a stand mixer or hand mixer. If consistency it too thick, add 1 TBSP of milk at a time until you reach a mixable consistency.
add vanilla, almond, and any food coloring.
lick the beaters...you know you want to.
You can store leftover frosting in the fridge. Before trying to frost with leftover frosting, return frosting to room temperature.
