Meet Jessica

Hello, I am Jessica, the face behind the instagram account @orchardslope. 
Orchard Slope is our little piece of paradise.  In an effort to move out of town and closer to family, we stumbled upon a small cherry orchard for sale.  Since we could not find a farmhouse to buy, we decided to buy a farm, build a farmhouse, and…well perhaps one day….farm!!  But for now we are just working to make this little house into our forever home and building fun memories along the way.  

We moved into our home in 2016 and I started my Instagram page @Orchardslope as a way to share our house build with my friends.  It quickly became a fun hobby, a way to keep busy while my kids were in school.  THEN suddenly it became a side hustle, I gained tons of followers very quickly, I discovered I LOVED decorating my home, and I opened a shop (509 Farmhouse) to share my passion with others.  

WE love EVERY thing about our home and enjoy spending time together there, but as our kids have gotten older, we quickly realized that our time with them under our roof was QUICKLY slipping through our fingers. Todd and I immediately determined that we needed to stop just trudging through our life and REALLY focus on making memories. That first year we bypassed traditional Christmas presents and headed to Disneyland. It was LITERALLY the rainiest week California had seen in YEARS, but we had the time of our lives. We were hooked and the next year we skipped Christmas and headed to Hawaii. We KNEW that there was SOOOOO MUCH more to life than just STUFF and we have been working to stop collecting STUFF and start collecting memories.

We are on a mission…a mission to not only LIVE this life, but to live it to the FULLEST!! We Only get 18 or so years with these tiny humans in our homes, and we want it to be the BEST 18 years we can make it. We are a family of four and we do it all together…work, travel, play, repeat!!! We want to see it all, do it all and EXPERIENCE it all TOGETHER. Our fondest memories are created when we are together. And then once we have FUNNED ourselves out…we head back to our happy place…back to ORCHARD SLOPE.
