YOU GUYS!! MY baby girl turned TEEN this week. HOW AM I AT THAT AGE ALREADY!!?? I still think of myself as a young mom…but I am pretty sure THAT particular ship has SAILED…haha!!! I remember going to my mom’s 20th class reunion bbq with her and thinking everyone was SOOOO old…and now…I am creeping up on 25 years!! I took Emmy to the mall with a few friends to celebrate her birthday and they PROMPTLY ditched me. Like…they didn’t even CONSIDER letting me tag along with them. I thought I was a fun mom, BUT I guess I AM still a MOM…and moms are not cool enough to go into Hollister…apparently. I always used to wonder who those people were sitting alone in the mall eating a Cinnamon. And now I get it…THEY ARE MOMS!!
I shared some fun stuff on the blog AND over on INSTAGRAM this week. If you are not following along on IG, you should come hang out!! I share a lot of fun diy’s and recipes that never make it on to the blog. I recently shared a recipe for chicken salad lettuce wraps that are PERFECT for spring and summer!!! AND the most exciting thing to happen this week for the blog…I POSTED A FULL HOW TO VIDEO ON YOUTUBE!!! You can come and decorate with me while I clean off and re-style my kitchen open shelves…or just pop over to laugh at me while I try to act natural on video…haha!! Wanna know what I found this week that I CANNOT live without?!?!
Do you know the benefit of wandering alone in the mall for a couple hours?? I got a chance to pop into Bath and Body Works…which I rarely get the opportunity to do. ANDDDD lucky me, they had their summer scents out!! I LOVE the summer scents.!! SOOO I took one for the team and smelled ALL the smells and I am here to tell you…I FOUND THE BEST ONES!! I have ALWAYS wanted to go to BELIZE…so I was a little biased for this one, but it smells amazing…like a REALLY yummy sun tan oil. I got the spray, but before summer is over, I need to grab a lotion. AND a SUPER pleasant surprise was the hand sanitizer spray. I LOVE to keep sanitizer spray in my purse and car. I love that I can spray it on my hands, but also on ANYTHING else I want (I’m looking at you park benches, restaurant tables, and door knobs). PLUS…the scent is YUMMMMM!!! I got Pineapple Coconut, and EVERYONE has been asking me what I have on that smells so good. It is sweet and tropical and PERFECT for summer. I don’t have an affiliate link or anything fun for you, Bath and Body Works doesn’t even know I exist, but you can shop Bath and Body Works online HERE…or just run out to your store to grab some!!
I also grabbed one of THESE face cleaning brushes. I loved that it came with ALL the attachment heads I could ever need for my face and was under $15, BUT the real deciding factor was that little pumice stone head. I pop that bad boy on and use it for my feet. It works great on my heels where I tend to get SUPER dry. I just use it when I am in the tub or right after I get out of the shower and so far I am really happy with it. I start with THIS foot mask, then the pumice stone brush, and finally THIS foot cream which is SOOOO thick and just softens everything up. If I REALLY wanna get soft feet, I wear socks with the cream…although sleeping in socks is NOT MY FAVORITE. But I am willing to sacrifice in order to wear sandals without nasty cracked heels:)
What is catching my eye over on Pinterest this week??
Last week I shared a recipe for Teriyaki chicken and garlic bread pizzas…we tried them both and they were KID APPROVED!!! My husband even mentioned how good the Teriyaki skewers were. We actually just cooked them in the oven…we are not grill ready yet this year…and they turned out YUMMYY!!!! I will for sure be adding those two to my FAVORITE RECIPE Pinterest board!!

THESE Monte Cristo Sliders!! I was JUST recently introduced to the Monte Cristo sandwich…and I AM SO SAD I MISSED OUT FOR 40 years of my life!! It seems like a lot of work to make…I have only eaten them in a restaurant, BUT these sliders look simple, quick, and delicious.
Next up, we are going to try another tin foil dinner night. Six Sister’s Stuff actually has 30 different tin foil dinner recipes to try…so I am excited for easy summer cooking!! I am pretty sure cheesy campfire potatoes and Santa Fe chicken will be the first of the 30 I wanna try…yum!!

I got bored looking at recipes and got distracted by all of the cute summer decor inspiration. 5 years ago I used lemons in my summer decor…and I think I am going to dig those lemons out again this year. This year has been sooooo full of change that I can almost NOT remember what normal is really like. But there have also been some GREAT things to come from this year. 1. I was able to slow down my work schedule and focus on my kiddos. 2. I was able to complete some long lost home projects. 3. I got to spend the entire year homeschooling AND LOVING IT!! 4. I discovered that we do not NEED to do/be EVERTHING. 5. I learned to say NO and not feel guilty. Soooo I am going to spend this next week focusing on the positives of this NEW normal we live in and STOP looking back at the way it USED to be. Let’s just agree to enjoy this crazy ride!! Let’s chat soon. JESS
