Dolly Pardon’s Heartstrings on Netflix
Oh Dolly!!! If you know me, you KNOW that I am a HUGE Dolly Parton fan. She is just so darn cute, and fun, and sassy, and a little trashy…all the things I love!! I honestly think we could hang out and be besties…you know if she didn’t have hundreds of millions of dollars and her own theme park to run and no need of a 40 something fan-girl from small town Washington State. Anyway…enough about me…let’s talk about Dolly. Have you spotted her new Netflix show yet?? Just in case, I thought I better let you know that Dolly is back and better than ever in her Netflix series Dolly Parton’s HEARTSTRINGS.
I have only had a chance to catch the first Episode, Jolene, but I am HOOKED. Each episode is based on one of Dolly’s iconic songs and each tells a different story of friendship and love. There is an episode from the wild west, and one from the Vietnam War. They each tell their own story, which I think is SOOO cool and different. ANNNND as if that is not enough, Dolly acts AND sings on the show. I CANNOT believe that even at her age, her voice is AMAZING!! Another fun twist (at least in the first episode) is the choice of actors. For example Julianne Hough (I adore DWTS) AND Kimberly Williams-Paisley both star in the Jolene episode (Julianne is the most gorgeous perfect Jolene EVER!!). PLUS Julianne sings a duet with Dolly that I HOPE becomes a single…because I want to jam out to it in my car!! Although if we are being honest, I would jam out to Dolly singing the phone book!!
So put the kids to bed and binge watch Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings with me. I will make popcorn!!! And then afterwards we can do makeovers and watch Steel Magnolias and laugh till we cry and cry till we laugh. It’s a thing. Well truthfully, whether you show up or not, episode 2 is officially on my to-do list for tomorrow…the TWO DOORS DOWN episode is calling my name. That song is absolutely one of my favorites and is JUST so DOLLY!!! Happy Netflix-ing (y’all) !! JESS
