Walmart Wednesday: budget friendly Christmas gifts

I am so stinking behind on my Christmas shopping…like the kind of behind where I have NOT even started…oh my. BUTTTT one thing I am REALLY good at, is picking out gifts for myself…I am WINNING at that…haha. This week I found some great budget friendly Christmas gifts…along with some other fun ideas at Walmart.

If you know me AT ALL, you know I love Santa mugs…if you do not know this about me, check out my Instagram feed and you will see it is a bit of an obsession actually. But I am truly LOVING this little Santa mug complete with spoon…HOW CUTE IS THAT!?!?! Sometimes the neighbor/teacher/friend gifts are the hardest to find…it is hard to find a cute NOT useless budget friendly Christmas gift. This would be a fun gift paired with cocoa or favorite teas or stuffed with chocolates…yum!!

Another fun and inexpensive gift is this adorable galvanized house wax melt warmer. The windows are my favorite part…I just love that it can also work as a night light.

I actually received this buffalo plaid blanket as a gift and my whole family FIGHTS over it now. It is so warm and cozy…and most importantly CUTE!! I am sooooo glad that the buffalo plaid love is still going strong:)

We all know that giving gifts is only HALF the fun of the Holiday Season. The other half is going to parties, dressing a little fancy, and eating ALL THE FOOD. I spotted a few SUPER cute inexpensive Holiday outfit choices at Walmart too…I am actually pretty excited about these…

First of all…how darn adorable is this pleated skirt?!?! It comes in a couple of colors…including black…but this gold color SCREAMS Christmas party to me!! I love that it would WORK for a party, but is also simple enough to continue wearing for work, or church, or date night (do you actually dress up for date night?? I have never been on a SKIRT WORTHY date, but I see it on t.v. soooo…).

Leopard…I cannot get enough. I know I have shared A LOT of leopard lately, but this leopard skirt HAD to make the cut. Plus that black and gray option could take your leopard wearing game to a WHOLE other level I think!!

I could not decide between the black and the red dress, so I just included them both. I tend to always choose neutral colors, but for Christmas that red would be SO FUN!! I might need one for me and one for Emersyn.

If you are like me though and like pajama parties more than ACTUAL parties, I found a few cute cozies at Walmart too. For me in the winter it is ALLLLL about being warm and comfortable and preferably at home cuddled on the couch. I found this robe in our local store and fell in LOVE. It is the SOFTEST fabric EVER and just sooooo cute and cozy. I know what you are thinking…leopard again. BUT this one comes in LOTS of colors and patterns if you choose NOT to look like a Real Housewife in the plush leopard. I just feel the need to emphasize again how stinking soft this robe is…like the softest bunny had a baby with…well a leopard I guess. Trust me…it is SOFT!!!

I spotted these pajama pants online, and they are the same brand as the bunny soft robe and CLAIM to be the same super soft minky fabric. I cannot vouch for the EXTRA softness, but they come in a pack of 2 and are made of minky…so what’s not to love???

Like I said, I have a one track mind when it comes to winter attire (and I am NOT talking about the leopard print…although…it is adorable). I mean cozy and comfy. These joggers are also super soft minky and come in the CUTEST colors. I have not joined the joggers club yet, but I think it is time to fix that…because these look SOOOO comfortable. And I see people in the school drop off line wearing joggers, so I feel like they are the new yoga pants. What do you think about that?? Because I think it is VERY clear that I have zero intention of jogging in them and EVERY intention of wearing them out in SEMI public:)

I am not even going to comment on these leopard slippers. I think you KNOW how I feel about them!!

As hard as I TRY to ignore life and stay indoors during the winter, SOMEHOW I am always expected to continue living my life when it is cold outside. SOOO I also scouted out some cute winter boots. I adore these green boots, but the shorter boots are on sale for $20 right now …which is hard to pass up. If we are forced to wander into the frigid temps, we might as well have some cute boots to make up for it right?!?!

Ok, and last on my list of Walmart finds…the random things I do not need but also REALLY love. These tennis shoes for instance. We went on a quick weekend trip and I needed sneakers for our outdoor adventure…so I grabbed these on the way out of town. AND NOW, they are my favorite comfy shoes. The only downfall is that the bottom has ZERO traction (they are basically flat rubbery plastic on the bottom). These shoes are for going grocery shopping, NOT exercising. But I spend ZERO time exercising and LOTS of time grocery shopping, so they are perfect for me.

Long cardigans are my jam right now. I am SOOOO glad they are making a hard comeback. This duster cardigan is great because it is not TOO bulky, so the extra length is actually slimming…high five fellow mom bods…high five!!!

Walmart’s purse game has been STRONG this winter. This purse is VERY similar to a MUCH more expensive bag that everyone is in love with right now, and if you know me, you know I am NOT an expensive purse person. I LOVE that for $16 my kids can spill M&M’s and somehow squeeze out toothpaste inside, and I don’t have to cry over my purse.

Did you know there is something I love ALMOST as much as LEOPARD?? It’s Rose Gold…I am not a huge pink fan always (I realize I just shared a pink purse…I am NOTHING if not inconsistent), but give me some rose gold and I am in!! I actually own this rose gold luggage and cannot say enough about it. The wheels swivel…which doesn’t seem like a big deal until you try to go back to a NON swiveling suitcase. Also, it is a hard case bag, but NOT too heavy. AND it has an extension zipper, so that you can unzip it to increase the size (for when you buy too many boxes of macadamia nuts in Hawaii…or whatever).

Did you ever have a swatch watch. I remember my sister got one for Christmas one year and I was SOOOO jealous when she started changing up the bands and being all 80’s awesome. So when I spotted these interchangeable watches, I added them RIGHT to the list. How cool would be 80’s self be if I had one of these babies?? I think the word you are looking for is RAD…

And there you have it. Those are my top Walmart picks for this week. Who knew you could find so many awesome budget friendly Christmas gifts (for yourself and others) at Walmart. If you want to see previous weeks picks, you can find them here, here and here for more thrifty finds. Hope you are enjoying these crazy PRE Holiday days…I am off to freak out about NOT having my Christmas shopping done (started). Chat with ya soon. JESS
